Creativity has always been one of my passions in life. How do we as artists and designers stay connected with our creative center? We always hear to think outside of the box and let your creativity soar. I'd like to think that these posts on this blog may accomplish that for some of you. By sharing my thoughts and experiences I'm sure that it will inspire me as well.

Jump for Joy Angels Mixed Media Canvas Tutorial Part 2
Here are close-ups of the mini canvases after I have added decoupaged papers, Washi Tape on the edges, added the Roller Doodle Stamp and some turquoise blue acrylic paint blended onto the canvases. Deco Art has a great Deco-Pauge product which works great. In the past I've had problems with decoupage bubbling up but since I started using an old room key/credit card to smooth over the decoupaged areas have not had a problem. Seems to work well pushing out all of the air bubbles under the papers.
I think this needs to have some orange stenciled areas added to it but will add those once I've added the stamped images. I'm also going to add some GLITTER!!! Wahhoooo!!!!! Love the bling.

DeleteLooking good so far!
ReplyDeleteGreat idea to use the credit card/room key for smoothing...I'll be doing that next time I add paper to canvas!
It works really well. I've tried a number of techniques and this seems to work the best for me.
