In my last post I mentioned that I was planning to do a step by step demonstration using one of the Santa faces from the First Star Of Christmas Pattern. I used the face from the tin santa and changed the hat slightly and painting this on 140lb hot pressed watercolor paper. I've painted only the face adding the shading and highlighting and painted in the base color of the hat. The next step will be to add the shading and highlighting to the hat as well as beginning the process of developing the beard, mustache, hair, and hat trim.
